Top 5: Local Restaurants That Offer Valentine’s Day Meals

This year, Valentine’s Day isn’t just about keeping some form of normalcy for us; it’s about helping out our local businesses and showing them some love. COVID has really done a number on Ottawa’s small business, and we need to do whatever we can to help them make it through another lockdown. Ottawa is a town built on small business and entrepreneurs, and we won’t let that legacy go down without a fight. Small businesses are doing everything they can to stay open, and stay afloat, so in support of that passion and drive we ask that you order your special Valentine’s Day meal from one of these amazing, inspiring and tasty local restaurants (or any local restaurant near you).

Their Valentine weekend menu is up and ready for pre-order! Head to your kitchen and enjoy a scrumptious candlelit dinner, courtesy of My Catering Group!

Details: Start off with a cheese and charcuterie platter, followed by a canapes kit, a main course with your choice of beef tenderloin, roasted black cod or handmade gnocchi, served alongside our arugula salad, market vegetables and loaded baked potato. Finish off the meal with a dessert as sweet as you….a white chocolate brownie and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Want to elevate your dinner? Add on a 6oz. Lobster tail or seafood platter! They also have some local Ontario wines and beer for purchase! Place your order online via their website, and choose from their pickup or delivery options. Pickups are both Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th from 10 am – 12 pm and 12 pm – 2 pm. Deliveries will be on February 14th from 10 am -2 pm.

Celebrate this Valentine’s Day with the best pairing out there – just like you and your partner – oysters and scotch!

About this Event: A fantastic pairing. The briny, peaty character of the Islay single malt brings out a sweetness in the oyster, while the latter adds a salty touch to the whisky. One comes from the sea, one comes from near the sea. They are made for each other – just like you! Every ticket includes a 3-course meal for two, 2 drams of scotch and a bottle of sparkling Riesling. All safely packaged in take-home containers. Additional items are available at checkout. Order here!

EVOO has you covered with their Valentine’s Weekend only set menus! They have a limited amount of pre-orders available before they’re sold out – don’t hesitate!

Looking to add a gift? Of course, you are! Luckily they have partnered with @laurasballoonco  so you can add a stunning custom balloon gift to your order! Order straight from their website to place your pre-order. One less item off your Valentine’s List!

These Top 5 suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg on how you can support a local business this Valentine’s Day. Take a peek below for a few bonus suggestions on gift ideas or a little something sweet!

  • Dipped Ottawa: Fun, tasty and interactive dessert or gift that can be personalized
  • Bar From Afar: Delicious drink kits that bring the bar right to your home, comes with all the ingredients and instructions to make a cocktail like a pro!
  • Local Flower Shops: A quick google search for local flower shops is a great way to surprise your loved one while also supporting local florists. A few suggestions are Maison Anthea Florist, and Bloomfields. Google Local florists near me for a local florist in your area.
  • Strawberry Blonde: located in Kanata or Westboro has vegan, dairy-free, nut-free, gluten-free treats that are so delicious. So if you have a loved one with food allergies that is a great place to get a Valentine’s Day treat (as a celiac I can say I order a lot of stuff from their online store).

However you choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, we hope you choose to support local and help keep Ottawa’s small businesses in business!
